Cooling Parts: Warning Signs to Watch

A stable cooling system protects the engine under load. Rising temperature, coolant loss and changes in fan behavior often appear before a complete failure.

Common warning signs

  • Temperature increases during normal operation
  • Coolant residue around the radiator, hoses or water pump
  • Bearing noise or movement at the fan and pulley
  • Damaged fins or restricted airflow through the radiator

Stop and inspect persistent overheating promptly. Continuing to operate can turn a serviceable cooling-system fault into major engine damage.
